How can I contact Tutor Index?
At Tutor Index, we enjoy hearing from parents, students, teachers and tutors. If you have a question about our services or want to give us your feedback, you can contact us by filling out our online contact form.
How do I sign up for my Tutor Index account?
To register for an account, click on the “Register” tab at the top of the page. Once you submit your information, you will receive an email from Tutor Index asking you to verify your membership. Click on the link in the email to activate your account. Tutor Index will send you a second email confirming your account has been activated.
What advertising options does Tutor Index offer?
Tutor Index offers three different advertising options: Basic Directory Listings, Premium Directory Listings and Panel Advertisements. Visit our advertising page for more information.
How do I create an advertisement on Tutor Index?
You must have a Tutor account to advertise on Tutor Index. Login to your account and click on the “Advertisements” icon. You will be prompted to create a new advertisement or update an existing one. Click on “Create New Advertisement.” Select the type of advertisement you want to create and click “Next.”
The information you are required to input will vary slightly based on whether you are creating a Directory Listing or Panel Advertisement. Follow the instructions on each screen until you have completed the process. There are small green question marks next to each field. Put your mouse over these icons for helpful tips as you create your advertisement. You will have an opportunity to preview and edit your ad before submitting it to be posted on Tutor Index. Remember, you can make changes to your ad at any time even after it is already live on the site.
All advertisements must be approved by Tutor Index. You will receive an email from us when your ad has been approved. It may take up to 48 hours for your advertisement to go live.
I want to advertise, but my city is not listed. Can I still advertise?
If you want to list your tutoring services on our website and the city where you tutor is not included in our database, simply choose the city that is closest to your location and create your advertisement there. You can tell users your exact location in the description portion of your profile.
You can also email us your exact city, and we will try to include it in our next update. After your city is added to our database, you can update your advertisement to reflect the new city.
I want to advertise, but my subject is not listed. Can I still advertise?
If the subject you tutor is not included in our database and you want to list your services on Tutor Index, choose the subject that is the most similar to your specific discipline. You can let users know your exact specialty in the description section of your profile.
In addition, you can email us your specialty, and we will try to include your subject in our next update. After your subject has been added, you can update your advertisement accordingly.
How are advertisements displayed on Tutor Index?
When a user conducts a header search on Tutor Index, the results are organized by closest proximity to the user’s zip code. Premium Directory Listings are posted at the top of the page, followed by the Basic Directory Listings.
Panel Advertisements posted on the side panels throughout the website are rotated so each ad receives equal exposure.
What are the fees for advertising on Tutor Index?
Tutor Index advertising rates begin at $50 for six months or $75 for one year. Tutors who advertise with Tutor Index can pay for their ads once every six months or once every year. When you pay annually instead of semi-annually, you save 33%. In addition, we offer multiple city discounts when you list your services in more than one city. How can I pay for my advertisement?
Tutor Index accepts the following forms of payment: Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Discover, Check or PayPal. You will automatically be billed every six or twelve months until you notify us that you no longer want to advertise on Tutor Index. If you decide to discontinue your ad, you can cancel at any time. There are no long-term commitments when you advertise with us.
Do I have to design my Panel Advertisement or can Tutor Index help?
When you purchase a Panel Advertisement on Tutor Index, you can choose to design it yourself or have us design it for you. If you already have an ad you want to use, simply upload it to our site. Ads are 215 X 150px. We will approve your design, resize it to fit the dimensions of our site if necessary, and post it to the website.
If you do not want to design your ad, Tutor Index will create one for you for free! When you buy your Panel Advertisement, choose to receive our free design service, and we will work with you to create your ad. After you approve it, we will post it to our site. If you want your Panel Ad redesigned in the future, Tutor Index will design it for free once during the year or upon renewal. Each additional redesign is subject to a $75 charge.
Is my billing information safe on Tutor Index?
Yes! We do not sell or share your information with any third party site. Our website is secured by 128 bit encryption. This encryption certificate can be seen at the bottom of each page. In addition, we do not store your credit card number in our database. Credit card numbers are processed and stored with Elavon, one of the largest online merchant providers. Elavon has the most up-to-date online security available today.
