I am fluent in English and can communicate to various degrees of fluency in Japanese, Hebrew, and American Sign Language. I have taught and tutored academic subjects in each of these languages as well. I also have experience working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in ASL, Signed English, and SimCom environments. Additionally, I have worked with adult learners, returning students, English language learners, and students with special needs. I have taken formal coursework in education and understand that we all have different learning styles and that there is no one single approach that will work for everyone. As such, I am flexible and adaptable as a tutor.
I look forward to working with you and your individual educational needs!

The NCLEX is a licensure exam used to assess key competencies that are required to be an entry-level nurse. All nursing candidates must pass the exam before they can begin practicing. There are two versions of the exam—one for registered nurses and one for practical nurses. The exam is only offered in English, and it is administered by Pearson VUE at more than 200 centers in the United States and 18 international testing centers.
Taking the NCLEX
The NCLEX is a computer-based exam, where the questions are presented one at a time. After each question is answered, the next question appears on the computer screen. Questions are scored as they are answered, so candidates cannot skip questions or go back and change their answers after they have responded. Subsequent questions are determined based on the number of previous questions the candidate answered correctly. Typically candidates who answer questions correctly will receive more difficult questions, while those who answer questions incorrectly will receive easier questions. This helps provide a more accurate assessment of the candidate’s ability.
Registering for the NCLEX
Before a candidate can register for the exam, they must apply to the board of nursing where they wish to be licensed for an authorization to take the test, and they must meet all of the eligibility requirements established by the board of nursing. When the candidate has met the eligibility requirements and received their authorization to test, they may register for the exam. The authorization will include the dates during which the candidate may take the exam. The timeframe cannot be extended, so it is important to schedule an exam date during the allotted testing window. If the candidate does not take the test during the approved dates, they will have to re-register for the exam.
NCLEX Scores
All exams are scored twice to ensure the results are accurate. The board of nursing where the candidate took the test will mail the results about a month after the exam. Candidates who do not pass the exam must wait 45 or 90 days, depending on the requirements of the nursing board in their jurisdiction, before they can take the test again.
Preparing for the NCLEX
Because so much material is covered on the NCLEX and passing the exam is critical to being able to practice as a licensed nurse, it is important that candidates adequately prepare before taking the exam to increase their chances of earning a passing score. There are many resources available that will help students review the necessary material and familiarize them with the exam format. Examples include study guides, practice questions, review courses and NCLEX tutors. Candidates can choose the one that is best for them based on their schedule, budget and learning style.
