Our tutors are handpicked through a rigorous selection process. This is because we strongly believe that the quality of teachers has a profound effect on the learning outcome for the students.? Our students get an opportunity to learn with tutors who are experts in their subject, who come down to the level of the student, act as a guide, a coach and a facilitator of learning. They are trained to make the classes discussion sessions that should help the students stretch their imagination and bring their creativity out. Because each student is unique in terms of potential and level of learning, one size fits all does not work at all, to help them reach their potential. The program is designed in such a way that the student learns in a class that is interesting for him.
I am fluent in English and can communicate to various degrees of fluency in Japanese, Hebrew, and American Sign Language. I have taught and tutored academic subjects in each of these languages as well. I also have experience working with Deaf and hard-of-hearing students in ASL, Signed English, and SimCom environments. Additionally, I have worked with adult learners, returning students, English language learners, and students with special needs. I have taken formal coursework in education and understand that we all have different learning styles and that there is no one single approach that will work for everyone. As such, I am flexible and adaptable as a tutor.
I look forward to working with you and your individual educational needs!

Piano
A piano is defined by www.merriamwebster.com as a musical instrument having steel wire strings that sound when struck by felt-covered hammers operated from a keyboard. The modern piano was invented by Bartolomeo Cristofori and has 88 different keys—52 white and 36 black. When a key is pressed, a hammer strikes the wire strings, creating a sound. Each key produces a different sound. Combinations of notes are played together to produce different pieces of music. To keep a piano sounding its best, regular maintenance is required.
Types of Pianos
There are two different types of full-sized pianos—the grand and the upright. On a grand piano, the frame and strings are horizontal. There are three types of grand pianos—concert, parlor and baby grand. Concert grands range from 7-10 feet, parlor grands are 6-7 feet and baby grand pianos are five feet. Concert grands produce the best sound and are used in concert halls by professionals for recitals and concerts, while parlor and baby grand pianos are used in non-professional settings, such as homes and classrooms. Their size makes them a more practical choice. However the sound they produce is not as rich as that produced by a concert grand.
The frame and strings on an upright piano are vertical. The hammers strike the wire strings in a horizontal motion and are returned to their starting position by springs. Pianos taller than 45 inches are usually referred to as uprights.
Pedals
Pianos typically come with either two or three foot pedals depending on the type and size of the piano. The pedals serve different functions and enhance the sound of the notes being played. The sustain pedal lengthens the note that is played and the soft pedal softens the sound of a note. On a grand piano, the third pedal is the sostenuto pedal, and it sustains notes that have already been played, while giving the musician a chance to play additional notes at the same time. The third pedal on an upright piano is the practice pedal, and it mutes the sound of a note.
Learning to Play the Piano
Learning how to play the piano takes time and patience. It includes learn learning how to read music, position your fingers properly on the keys, transition to different keys up and down the keyboard, use the pedals and much more. It is unlikely that a person will be able to learn to play the piano on their own without any instruction. However, there are a variety of resources available to help people learn how to play the piano, including:
- DVDs. Learn from the comfort of your own home with instructional DVDs that teach different notes on the keyboard, finger positioning and more.
- Books. Read up on the latest piano playing techniques to help you get started.
- Piano tutor. Private lessons from a piano teacher are probably the most effective and efficient way to learn how to play the piano. With one-on-one instruction a tutor will teach beginners the fundamentals of piano playing and continue working with students as they advance.
