Description: I'm a tutor in the Friendswood/Clear Lake/League City/Pearland area looking to help out students in those same areas with various math and science courses. I tutor from junior high to several college courses. I am a post-bacc student going to school for engineering, and just looking to get some work in on the side. I enjoy working with students and the challenge of finding the right method to understanding. I graduated from UT-Austin with a BA in Philosophy before my latest educational endeavor.

Description: Over the past seven years, I have tutored students (from 3rd grade through college) in the North Dallas and surrounding areas. Mathematics is my specialty with particular courses of Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I and II, Trigonometry, Geometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus. 

I also work with students as they are preparing for standardized tests (Math portions of ISEE, SAT, ACT) to help refresh concepts and practice test taking skills. 

I tend to focus on having students recognize concepts of the problems they face so that through repetition, problems solving comes more easily and they build confidence in their abilities. I also tutor some Science and Technology subjects with a particular interest in Chemistry (General, Organic, Biochemistry).

I have two Masters degrees, one in Computer Science (SMU) and one in Biomedical Engineering (UT Southwestern Medical Center). Professionally, I have been a Technical Consultant and Sales Engineer in Healthcare Information Technology for 13 years and have nearly 30 years total working experience (over 20 years in Healthcare).

Description: Hi! My name is Tricia. I have a about 5 years of experience tutoring over 80 students from elementary to college age. I'm currently a practicing engineer at a medical device company and tutor in my free time. It's something I truly love to do, there's nothing better than witnessing the "light bulb" moment.

Through participating in a biomedical engineering curriculum, I learned to critically think about different subjects and how they relate to each other, which I use to tutor and help students understand. I also aim to instill critical thinking techniques when teaching, allowing students to move away from memorization and towards logical thinking and problem solving, which in turn helps them retain the information and score better on exams.
