Description: Hi! My name is Tricia. I have a about 5 years of experience tutoring over 80 students from elementary to college age. I'm currently a practicing engineer at a medical device company and tutor in my free time. It's something I truly love to do, there's nothing better than witnessing the "light bulb" moment.

Through participating in a biomedical engineering curriculum, I learned to critically think about different subjects and how they relate to each other, which I use to tutor and help students understand. I also aim to instill critical thinking techniques when teaching, allowing students to move away from memorization and towards logical thinking and problem solving, which in turn helps them retain the information and score better on exams.

Description: Are you struggling with the ACT or SAT, or are you looking for a bit of a boost on your scores to gain an edge with college admissions? In that case, I believe I can help you out: I'm Katarina, a high school senior who scored both a 36 on my ACT and 2400 on my SAT in 2014. Only a handful of students in the entire nation accomplish a perfect score on both tests each year, but practicing specific strategies and keeping in mind certain tips can dramatically improve performance. As a student who recently took these tests, I understand the typical problems high school students encounter on these tests and how to resolve them. Scoring highly on the ACT or SAT doesn't reflect inherent intelligence or makes one a child prodigy: it simply demonstrates how good one is at taking the ACT and SAT, and I believe anyone can do well with the correct approach. Proof of scores can be provided upon request. A complimentary "tips" packet will be provided with the first tutoring session. I can also provide advice on how the two tests compare and which one you or your child should take- contrary to popular belief, the ACT and SAT are not equivalent at all, and each suits different types of students better.
