Description: Hi! My name is Tricia. I have a about 5 years of experience tutoring over 80 students from elementary to college age. I'm currently a practicing engineer at a medical device company and tutor in my free time. It's something I truly love to do, there's nothing better than witnessing the "light bulb" moment.

Through participating in a biomedical engineering curriculum, I learned to critically think about different subjects and how they relate to each other, which I use to tutor and help students understand. I also aim to instill critical thinking techniques when teaching, allowing students to move away from memorization and towards logical thinking and problem solving, which in turn helps them retain the information and score better on exams.

When tutoring I try to incorporate a comfortable and fun environment to promote learning. I feel that the more comfortable one is when learning, the more beneficial the lesson will be. Description: As a math major, I tutored my peers throughout college. After college, I applied my math and science in military aviation. For the last five years, I have instructed a variety of aviation topics. All of this has included instructing math and physics.

I can instruct almost any math subject and several science subjects. However, my favorite subject to instruct is algebra. As I have helped students with higher math, including calculus and differential equations, I have found that those who struggle typically lack a good foundation in algebra.
